On March 13, 2026, Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers had the privilege of attending the Grand Opening of the J. Joseph McLaughlin, Jr. Animal Shelter, in New Kent County.
It was a great opportunity to spread awareness of our Animal Cruelty Prevention initiative. The staff and residents were welcoming and very supportive. It was very exciting to see such a beautiful facility to help the men and women who work to protect the animal population each day. The residents of New Kent County should be very proud of this incredible facility. I am sure the animals that spend time there, will enjoy their new accommodations. One sweet pup was adopted before the end of the day, which is always a win.
